[Well, how does she explain it's not what she wants. She doesn't want any of this at all. She doesn't want to lose Alex, and she doesn't want to lose her Bond, and she doesn't want this awful buildup of mana in her mind to continue to make the voices and specters of her past continue to haunt her.
But she doesn't see a recourse. The Bond is failing for a reason, and it's not one that Maria can really see a good way out for. They wanted different things from the Bond. They can't be compatible anymore. Maria's failed to keep Alex safe - just keeping the Bond together is just going to make it worse for both of them when it fails completely.
She turns her one-eyed gaze back to Kaede as the chimera finally approaches, and holds out...
Well, one thing that Maria wasn't expecting. She takes all the proffered items, and looks the little temporary bond phial over. She's silent for a long moment, as she considers it.]
Turnabout is fair play, is it.
[She supposes it's to be expected. They'd built a more easy truce than Maria had with most of the rest of the Monsters, and Maria had even extended an offer for a temporary Bond when Ursula's magic was suppressed, and the full moons had loomed. Mostly to keep the peace in the house, but it was still an offer that probably wouldn't have been extended to anyone else.
It's a bit difficult to juggle the mug, and the alcohol bottle, and the temporary bonding potion with all the bandages, so Maria tucks the alcohol to the side for a moment. Only one of those needs to have another party present.]
'Need', perhaps. Sometimes I feel like I deserve the misery, though.
[But she frowns, and starts to try to unstopper the bottle.

No, she doesn't want help.]
