Mareuer - Catch all
Who: Hakuno
When: Throughout Mareur
Where: Æfenglom
What: A catchall for March
Warnings: None expected, but will edit as necessary
i. L'Amourtentia - Early Mareuer
Let's see... all that's left is to simmer it.
[Hakuno steps back and stretches, wings fluttering open slowly in unison as she shakes off the accumulated stiffness. When she drops her arms and the pale wings relax, her expression turns a bit rueful.]
...of all the things I thought I might make here, this was never exactly on the list.
ii. crafting
[As of late, Hakuno has been filled with a certain brand of restless energy in the evenings. While in part, she had been going to bed later in order to allow the other two people she sleeps there with to have some quality time alone, she had been confronted with an odd sense of wrongness to be idle in the meantime. Always in the market for a new hobby, now that there was time and the opportunity for it, she had ventured out to a crafting store and come back with a felting kit and a beginner's guide. And since then...
Well.]
...I might have gotten a little carried away...
[The basket in her arm holds an assortment of cute little animals that piled up over the nights and weeks, which she now has to find a place for.
She brushes a finger over one of the bunnies, her expression a bit sheepish.]
iii. practice makes perfect - Late Mareuer
[It had taken her a few weeks to feel confident in her new enjoyment of her music lessons—for her to know she'd stick with it, once the novelty wore off—and to amass the funds she needed for a good, quality violin of her own, but after a bit of budgeting she comes away with her very own. She mostly does her practice outside, in less frequented parks or out of the way areas. The benefit is two-fold: one, the apartment, while nice, is a bit too small and close to the neighbors for her to feel comfortable using it there, and two, she doesn't want to hear Gilgamesh's review on her amateur hour.
So, the general public gets that honor instead. If you listen closely and care to follow it through paths or a side street—or you're just looking for shelter from the rain—you might find a lightly dressed fae carefully working her way through a simple, lilting melody—something native to hear, but alone the lines of Ode to Joy or Claire de Lune in terms of simplicity—with a look of utter focus on her features beneath a gazebo or overhang, waiting for a spring drizzle to die out.

How many of those do you have?
no subject
[Hakuno peers down and does a quick head count.]
...something like a baker's dozen, I think. Want one?
no subject
They remind me of my troupemate.

So before Hakuno probably even knows it, there's suddenly a girl right next to her, leaning down at the basket and downright cooing at its content. ]
Wow, they're so adorable..!
no subject
[By pure providence, the way Hakuno jolts in surprise doesn't actually launch all the cute little creations out into the puddle-ridden streets, though they're certainly rattled and shuffled slightly in their wicker prison.]
O-Oh, uh. Thank you? Did... did you want one?
no subject
[ Asahi glances up from the cute things, at first looking completely clueless. She just didn't notice how much she startled the other since she was so focused on the animals.. But when she finally looks at Hakuno, Asahi does seem to realise, her jaw dropping open in surprise and slight shame. ]
.. oh! Yes-- I mean, if you're handing them out? Are you okay though?

[Back in the Moon Cell, anyone who got that close to her that fast... was usually an enemy gunning for her. She recovers quick enough, though, and offers a small smile.]

the most popular prompt in town, ii
Hakunon!
[After calling out, she waves for a moment before quickly walking closer.]
What did you get carried away with?
no subject
[Hakuno shift slightly, tilting the basket so that her friend can see for herself.]
These. I started making them recently, to pass the time.
no subject
Oh! They’re so cute! And you made them? They look like they could be sold in a toy store by a professional toy maker. You must be very talented, Hakunon!
[This is probably not true, but Leslie has both rose-tinted glasses about the people she likes and a a lifetime total of about fifteen minutes in a toy store, so this is said with absolute sincerity.]
no subject
[She wiggles the basket temptingly.]
I don't suppose you'd do me the favor of taking a few off my hands?

everybody loves cute dolls
Thank you. Do you want one?
no subject
I can have one? Really, for free? I'll take one!!!
[But aaaah which one to pick. They all are so cute, tho... After some seconds of indecisiveness, she finally points to one.]
That... Narwhal-chan.
no subject
[The narwhal had been her first experiment with wire extensions, so it's honestly a bit of relief to have it turn out well enough to be somebody's first pick. She passes it over.]
Do you like sea creatures?

crafting!
what’re those¿?¿ dolls—! ]
You made these?
[ he goes to pick up one of the felt rabbits himself, to get a better look as curiosity asks of him— but more that midway through, it dawns on him that he’s a complete mess of paint, especially his hands. retreating them once he’s changed his mind, but naturally pretending that he hadn’t, he rubs the spot just between his nose and lips to catch an itch.
he ends up swearing a multicolored mustache on himself. ]

[That looming shadow had been ominous for the moment between noticing it and recognizing the (paint-spattered?) fingers reaching down. She looks up, and doesn't quite stifle her laugh. Shifting her basket to the crook of her arm, she pulls a handkerchief out of her purse and goes up on her tiptoes to wipe his face, before he can rise up to his full height to really sell the nonchalance.]
Yes, I ended up taking up the hobby. I've got a weird amount of time and energy at night.
[Actually...]
Come to think of it, I realized I didn't know how to contact you, but I've actually got one of these for you.

his hand had come up during, seeming to curve around her’s with his palm (almost to discourage her, it’s fine it’s fine he doesn’t need cleaning—) but not quite touching. at most, a talon grazes the top of her hand, pulls back when he feels it, and— awkwardly hovers there. good job. (there’s paint. on her hand now) ]
You’re . . . [ —mild throat clearing! ] Not the only one.
[ aye! even more surprise, failing to lift himself up and curiously drawn downward to her basket. ]
For me?
no subject
Mhm. For you.
[She tucks the dirty handkerchief away, and instead of her basket reaches for her purse.
She comes up with a tiny dragon.]
I'm not skilled enough to make a totally accurate copy, but... well, I did my best. Ta-da.

Had this been another, less drizzly day, the Chimera would have been content to listen without being seen. She'd done that countless times before. But the seams of this cloak had started to leak, and...more than that, that itch in the back of her mind drew her to seek people out. The red-feathered Monster followed the sound of the music through the windy paths to its source seated under a gazebo.
She doesn't say anything to interrupt--or introduce herself, as she pads quietly under the roof. Kaede watches the Fae intently from under the brim of her hood, water dripping slowly from her exposed antlers.
Definitely not a jumpscare waiting to happen.]
no subject
Okay, that was about—
[She sets her bow to one side and pulls out her watch, only to jump and fumble as she spots Kaede, sending the poor device clattering onto the stone.]
—whoa! I... um, sorry, I didn't notice you... come in?
[Is that what you say? Does a gazebo count as 'in'?]
no subject
You seemed busy.
[It was sort of an apology. For the socially stunted, anyway.]
The song was nice.
no subject
Oh, thank you. It's the first one I've learned, so I'm working hard to practice.
[Her wings flutter behind her, betraying how flattering that little bit of praise was.]
The weather's crazy today, isn't it? I started playing about five minutes before it started coming down.
