[Open + Closed Prompts Within] June Catch-All | Garland Moon
Who: Lorenz + Open (Closed Prompts in Comments)
When: Throughout June
Where: Throughout Aefenglom and possible Quest locations
What: Lorenz adjusts to a quiet home + Quests/Plots/Whatever Else
Warnings: Gen right now. TBD as they come up.
A
[He had kept quiet about his troubles, but after the full moons had passed and started to wane in the sky, Lorenz couldn't fight the lingering restlessness that ate at his person unchecked for much longer. Even leash training his young black cat, minding the tea at the shop, and the sundry other projects he had on his plate could only do so much to ameliorate the situation at hand.
Lapis was gone. Pumpkin with her. His home within Aefenglom was, once more, too quiet for his comfort.
Craving a change in his routine, Lorenz dropped into the Purramid Cafe to see what sort of business this new establishment was. Perhaps he would pick up a few surprises for his own cat... or perhaps he might be recognized as the tall, elegant Faun with flowers in his antlers that worked at DiplomaTea. Who could say?]
B
[...For once, Lorenz seemed dreadfully out of his element. His hair and demeanor were as pristinely manicured as ever, but there was a certain spring in his step and furtive look in his eyes that betrayed just how distracted he was. Quietly biting his tongue into silence, Lorenz retraced his steps throughout town-- checking lost item bins in every establishment he went through.
His target: a simple, leather bound folio with page leaves that seemed too well worn to be a mere log of notes or personal journal.
No. It was his private book of hand-written poetry.
With each turn of his private quest remaining unfulfilled, Lorenz quietly grew more agitated and anxious as he passed through town. While ordinarily friends passing by would be met with a casual conversation, he was prone to being both startled and hurried.
He wanted to give the impression that everything was as fine as it always was. It wasn't.]

and up
and up
(what do you want from her, she's not even five feet tall!)
at the guy she ran into. ]
But you didn't do anything wrong! [ She just moves way too fast for her own good now, and it's kind of annoying. ]
no subject
[He chuckled, entertained by how jumpy this bunny girl was.]
...Truthfully, this is my first time in a cafe of this sort. Where I am from there are certainly cafes and cats, but no one has thought to put them together under one roof.
no subject
Really? [ O: You gotta come to Japanifornia, pretty boy. ] We have them in my world. You can adopt the cats and everything.
[ Actually... ] I wonder if you can do that here...
no subject
...but, tea houses where you can adopt cats does sound brilliant.
[Pardon the Faun-- he's thinking. Fodlan may not be as developed technologically as Japanafornia, but the people tended to be fairly clever with their ideas.]
no subject
Are you getting an idea, Mr. Faun?
[ She doesn't have a name, she's gotta call him something! ]
no subject
[He smiled, charmed by the girl and her smile.]
It might help change my homeland for the better, Miss Bunny. [Lorenz said, following her lead with the nickname.] After all, everyone deserves a cat in their life.
no subject
Well, do you have catteries? That's where the cafes back home get them from!
[ Or, hm... ] I guess you could catch a bunch of strays, but they'd need their injections....
no subject
[He watched her in apparent confusion as he followed her lead, allowing her to pick out a table that suited her tastes while he tried to puzzle this one out.]
I know neither of those words... but you must hail from a realm that has 'tee-vee', correct? A friend of mine who has since returned to her home also frequently used words that I didn't know.
no subject
Oh this is like Mikasa again, isn't it?
Well, there's nothing to be done for that, but this window table is pretty cute. Trucy smiles, one of her thousand watt performer smiles, and nods. ]
Uh-huh. But it seems like there's a lot of people who are from worlds without TV, too.
[ It's fascinating. She feels like every person has something new and wonderful about their world that she never would have considered before. ]
no subject
[Lorenz asked, beaming back at her with all of his finely polished conversational skills.]
We're all so different, and we can all learn so much from each other.
no subject
[ Ooh, come to think of it, if he doesn't have catteries or vaccinations... ] Do you have schools where you come from, Mr. Faun?
no subject
We certainly do, Miss Bunny. Five years ago I was even attending one.
[But this girl, certainly, was an interesting one. Getting settled, he pressed forward.]
What sort of subjects do you learn about in school? I imagine they are quite interesting-- my friend who also knew of Tee-Vees mentioned lands on other planets as well. Has your people made extensive study of the stars?
no subject
Well, we've landed on the moon and sent robots to Mars, but my science teacher says there's still a lot about the universe we don't know.
[ But damn, the images they have are amazing. ]
no subject
There very likely is. Academics find the answers to their questions only to ask more questions later on. It's a never ending cycle.
The subjects I've learned are fairly ordinary. Maths, literature, history, along with strategy, tactics, and private tutoring outside of class with different weapons and skills.
...I do not think I shall ever succeed in riding a wyvern, but I know people who have and it is phenomenal to watch.
