FULL MOON
[ The last Full Moon at least happened during celebrations. Drinks, merriments, and brawls were all but a normal thing to happen. But it somehow made this whole Full Moons deal a little easier to bear. It's now the third time it happens and Reno hates it a little more with each passing month. Figures, it will pass into a routine eventually, unless they get out of this place first. This time the Moons provide him with even more feathers, not just tufts here and there, his arms are slowly turning into wings Thickly feathered tonight, even if still not enough to fly up into the sky. The rusty red only a few notches more desaturated than his hair.
And given that... potential revelations that might have happened in the month prior... he is less likely to stay at the quietness of his apartment, wallowing in the misery. He hits the town, Entertainment District mainly. The brightness of the lights there causes a bright and hot irritation in him at first. Unsteady anger, pre-battle jitters, that quickly turn into weird neediness. He craves company, and it doesn't really matter if it's a peaceful and pleasant or involves ripping someone's face off. ]

[ So eventually giving into that, Reno nearly pounces someone; hand occupied with a bottle of beer, smile almost jovial but a bit too sharp. No glint of recognition in his eyes at first, if he should happen upon a familiar face. His eyesight is going to shit at night, but no way he is going to mention that. ]
Lost? [ He points at the building that hosts both a pleasure house and a pub, depending on if you go up or down the stairs ] Do you wanna go try that together? I'm kinda curious how it looks like.

[ When his mood crashes, and it's probably the last moment of the night that doubles as the earliest hour of the morning, Reno can be found sitting on the fence, somewhere in Haven. Sun is literally about to rise, but he's yet to see if it helps his eyes in any way. Are you going early to work/classes? Running for fitness? Whatever it is, the redhead soon-to-be harpy waves you, cigarette in feathered hand— ]
Got any fire? [ It's almost pretty please. The matches are gone, and he doesn't have the nifty Witchy powers to just make a flame out of nowhere. ]
QUEST #1 Heliofonic Hospital; the peddler
[ The potions, no doubt having its origin in dubious places are a real catch from a business standpoint. He gets a hefty cut on each potion he sells, basically. Surprisingly clean for the shady scheme that it probably is, but not that Reno is going to bother asking questions. He doesn't really concern how they're made, or whether they're a placebo or have some actual effects beneficial effects. It seems like a dumb, but an easy job. And who knows what you can learn along the way. ]
A )
[ —so should he see Mirrorbound seemingly suffering from a headache, insomnia, or even simple Monster growing pains, (or just simply being tired) he will approach them with few stock phrases about a miracle cure, and a good deal before it hits the market— He's clearly repeating a memorized phrase, not trying to hide he's here to sell shit ]
B )
[ But now that a certain hospital makes a focused effort to crack the operation down, a suspicion that it's all more than just a ruse rises. So if someone calls him out on this he will be both willing to listen and discuss the issue.
Yeah he's— ]
Listen, I got only two bottles left on me. Buy them and you'll get bonus info" [ He's not above ratting the alchemist to the guards (getting chummy with them is a better investment in the long run), but he wants to make a coin on this still. ]
QUEST #2 Under New Management; just checking it out
[ The job at the factory last month was, he'd want to say, uneventful. But that ain't true. So when the word goes around that the orphanage itself changed hands and is now under new management... Reno does go to take a peek.
From afar.
Look, it's not like he cares, okay? If he spots any face that he might have seen in Haven or identify from the network as a Mirrorbound he'll ask. ]
Hey, I heard there have been changes here. [ He starts and goes straight to the point ] Do ya know anything else about it? Word on the street says its owned by a Mirrobound
[ And that sounds like an incredibly curious thing, orphans aside. Because owning an orphange sounds like a big deal for a bunch of refugees. Also, are the kids still working oin the factory? ]

Once again, Zack has to take a moment to be relieved that he doesn't have to worry about Shinra's oppressive presence here.
He and Reno are hardly close, far from it, but that doesn't mean that Zack wishes ill will on him now. It might have been different if they were back home and in direct opposition to each other, but they've already called a truce. So, he just shrugs. ]
You could say that, yeah. Full moons can be rough. [ He isn't going to reveal more than that. For now, Zack's more curious about Reno's changes, and he closes the distance between them to get a closer look. His memories of seeing a transformed Sephiroth are fuzzy, but... ] Harpy, huh?
[ Instead of wings growing from Reno's back, his arms seem to be shifting into them. It's an important difference. ]

The figure comes closer, and within the light of the lampost and— ah, Zack, that's why the voice was more than familiar. It was close to a blunder, good thing he didn't ask Zack for his name, or something like 'do we know each other?' Nothing personal, if he could he would rather not disclose his eyesight problem to anyone.
Reno rubs his eyes, for all this squinting and then spreads his hands wide. ]
Looks like it. Can you imagine what's this shit doing to my wardrobe? [ Time to either shop for new, harpy friendly clothes... or cut off the sleeves of everything he got, hoping it won't fall apart. ] Just so we're clear— no Chocobo jokes allowed. Ever.
[ Full Moons can pack up and go straight to hell. But you can't tell of celestial bodies— right you can, (what else are Turnskins and their howls, whines, and so on), but the celestial bodies are not going to listen. ]

The wardrobe issue is likely to come up for every monster, and while Zack hasn't had to make any severe adjustments to his everyday clothes just yet, he did ruin some shirts during the full moon. It's yet another thing to keep in mind. ]
There are stores here that specialize in clothing tailored for various monsters. I'm sure they've got stuff for harpies.
[ There, a bit of genuine advice. And in all honesty, Zack's going to need to go shopping too. Good thing he's been saving up his cunes.
With that kindness given, Zack figures he's earned the chance to do the exact opposite of what Reno just requested. He gives him another once-over, smirking to himself. ]
A red chocobo, huh... Those aren't too common. Seen 'em around the Gold Saucer races, but that's about it.

Should have bet on one, you'd be a fucking millionere, heard these assholes are the fastest. [ He grouches somewhere between amusement, and mild annoyance. Gold Saucer, the absolute best place to ruin your entire fortune, some would say. They got absolute worst helipads though. ] Fuck birds.
[ He crumbles the cigarette and just throws away. Not even in general direction of the trashbin. Having someone to talk to is far more interesting than fighting with finding a light. Maybe he'll even not get back into the smoking habit. ]
What are you even doing being awake at this time, anyway? Night shift or did you found yourself a girl?
[ New life, new duties, new trysts. So many possibilities. How someone technically dead adjusts to having a life again? ]
no subject
[ Not that Zack's any kind of expert on chocobo racing and they're mainly just giving each other a hard time, so it doesn't actually matter. When Reno flicks his cigarette to the ground, though, Zack immediately pulls a face. With all that talk back home of how Shinra was ruining the planet -- really? Littering? Not that he should be surprised.
He considers telling Reno to pick up his trash and actually throw it away, but chances are that's not going to happen, so Zack does it himself. His wings fold against his back as he bends down to pick up the unlit cigarette, which he tosses into the closest bin.
At the question, he heaves out a breath and shrugs. Like it's not a big deal at all. His tail's flicking, though. ]
Didn't want to take any chances with possibly going feral, so I went out into the Wilde before it got dark, just to be safe. Since it's getting close to dawn, I figured it'd be safe to come back now.
[ A pause, and then he gestures with one hand toward Reno. ]
How about you?
no subject
But that goes away as Zack provides his answer and Reno can't believe his ears. ]
Wilde? Are you planning to get a check-up or something? [ Keep yoself clean, man ] Cwyld infection is as close as in the slums— and you had to cross through there, didn't ya?
[ Ah yes, another weirdly familiar aspect, isn't it? Everywhere it all works the same. There are resources, and they are not infinite. Some live in the safety and luxury of walls, while others cling to them from the outside, living on scraps. ]
no subject
Someone has to do those jobs, and he's used to putting himself in harm's way. Save for one close call, there haven't been any issues. And so, after a pause, he shrugs. ]
Yeah. Done it a few times now, for various reasons. I did get attacked by a Shade once, when I was new here, but the Coven was able to heal everything up. Since then, I've been careful.
[ Zack doesn't mess around with the Shades unless there's no choice, and even then he knows to be cautious. A scratch or bite would have to be dealt with immediately; he learned as much from Sephiroth. ]
You haven't been out there at all? [ He tilts his head to one side. ] I'm surprised.
no subject
[ The chastising over the dangers of Cwyld is rich coming from him. Ultimately Reno's concern is less of "some of us" and more of "looks like his partner is a dragon and they are easily corruptible" ]
